# Brogax > [!lotvk]- Lineage of the Veiled Kin — Known & Revealed > Brogax was the hungry dimensional creature encountered beneath Lab Halen. A custodian’s journal repeatedly used the name, and the party met a slime-coated, wall-like form which opened into many eyes as a voice roared “Brogak!” They killed it during the next battle and escaped the resulting collapse. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 39 - The Laboratory (Part Two - Brogax Hungers)|Session 39]]–[[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 40 - Aetherite Well Earned|Session 40]]) > > ## Encounter and danger > > The party descended past altered gravity, mental muttering, a consuming vortex and a void doorway into ancient, rune-marked architecture over blue thunderclouds and floating walkways. At the far end stood the slimy form. During the fight, rifts produced floating eyes and writhing tentacles while the bridge vanished behind the party. A tentacle seized Elena before Mealla severed it. The party’s later successful fight must be distinguished from those earlier reports. > > ## Aetherite and death > > Raphius saw Aetherite embedded in the creature and tried to pull it free; Pipe manipulated the shard with Mage Hand. The group fought as platforms dissolved, with Raphius driving his blade into its maw and hanging above the void before regaining footing. Eventually they overwhelmed it and the final eye closed. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 40 - Aetherite Well Earned|Session 40]], “The Death of Brogax”) > > Its body collapsed inward and a black-hole-like rift dragged in stone, water and debris. During escape, Raphius, Pipe and Mealla recovered differently sized Aetherite pieces. They fled through the collapsing facility, were swept out through the failing entrance and resurfaced in the quarry lake. The rift then sealed. Nothing in this inspected sequence records Brogax’s survival or revival. Nor does its death establish that related phenomena elsewhere in Tarin ended.
