# Raphius's Signet Ring
> [!lotvk]- Lineage of the Veiled Kin — Known & Revealed
> Raphius’s personal signet, used to seal his letters, was given to Elena before she left Wendell with Jasper and Myst. The narrative explicitly distinguishes it from [[Raphius's Mother's Ring|his mother’s ring]], previously given to Persephone. Elena carries this separate token of him at the recorded departure. Design, heraldry, magical properties and later custody are unrecorded. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 58 - The Final Days of Whune|Session 58]])
## Earlier letter sealing
During his watch after leaving Briar’s Creek, Raphius wrote a letter and sealed it with wax and his signet. The following morning he threw that letter into the dying campfire. The recorded destruction is of the letter, not the signet. The recipient and contents are not supplied by these passages. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 08 - Road to Polark|Session 8]]) ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 09 - Where there's a Will, there's a way - Through the Mistrise Pass|Session 9]])
This is earlier evidence of his signet use, consistent with the personal letter-sealing ring given to Elena in Session 58. The early passage does not describe its design or independently establish uninterrupted custody of the same physical ring throughout every intervening scene.
## Duplicated source passage
The original Word archive repeats the Session 8 camp-watch passage at the end of Session 9, including the sealed letter, ring recognition and approaching youth. This is duplicated source text, not sufficient evidence of a second occurrence. The originals are preserved; the exact reason for the repetition remains unresolved.
