# Feydown > [!lotvk]- Lineage of the Veiled Kin — Known & Revealed > Feydown is a Solland village adjoining [[Feygrove Forest]], visited by the party while travelling towards Bastion. Their visit exposed two overlapping crises: disappearances amid fear of the fey and an infestation of hidden Leechers. The sources do not prove that the fey caused the infestation. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 42 - Into Feygrove Forest|Session 42]]; [[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 44 - Cleansing Feydown|Session 44]]) > > ## Arrival and initial suspicion > > On arrival the villagers danced continuously despite exhausted eyes. The blacksmith hammered while dancing with flowers in his apron, calling it “the festival of the day” and professing Serapha. Pipe’s imitation irritated him. Raphius compared the scene with Blood of Ko, but resemblance was not a diagnosis of the same control mechanism. The party found [[The Absolutely Not Suspicious Tavern]], while Raphius and Persephone followed retreating silhouettes towards the forest and heard childlike laughter. Their initial suspicion of a lure precedes the next session’s explanation of aligned objects and branches. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 41 - Appeasing a God|Session 41]]) > > ## The village and the fey > > At the tavern, the party found relentless dancing and celebration alongside exhaustion, sweating and fear. Pipe’s Detect Magic found no obvious direct control of the villagers. A local woman, **Lirien**, described years of exchanged favours, offerings and tolerated pranks; she believed this relationship kept outsiders away. She said the fey resented Solland’s 6pm–6am curfew and that six villagers had disappeared as tensions worsened. Her explanation is local testimony, not proof of every disappearance’s cause. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 42 - Into Feygrove Forest|Session 42]], “Back at the Tavern”; “Lirien’s Explanation”) > > Humanoid silhouettes at the forest edge proved to be aligned branches and objects seen from a particular angle. In the forest, a pixie claimed a white-haired snake woman had taken missing villagers and later led the party to Otsi Darkscale. That claim guided the search; the inspected scene shows Otsi’s camp, not the complete fate of all six missing people. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 42 - Into Feygrove Forest|Session 42]]) > > ## Illness and the search for Black Lotus > > Lirien took Elena to a frail, coughing woman. Using Vivian’s veil, Elena saw a large creature feeding on her. Black Lotus was required for the proposed exposure ritual; Lirien said it was illegally harvested in the forest. The group delayed departure to seek the flower and help, also hoping to remove Elena’s own affliction. A fey bargain led them to a waterside growing site. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 42 - Into Feygrove Forest|Session 42]]) > > After returning from the Otsi encounter, Elena tended the sick woman, who is subsequently named **Mary**, and gave her a healing potion while warning that relief would be temporary. The party planned a guarded perimeter, controlled positioning and a short rest while Talador evacuated as much of the village as possible. Elena feared they were too exhausted but joined the preparations. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 43 - Otsi, Hand of Q'ruhm|Session 43]], “Elena and the Sick Woman”; “Preparations for the Ritual”; “We Are Not Strong Enough”) > > ## The local cleansing > > Pipe’s ritual made Leechers visible among villagers and guards. Mary was struck by a spike burst, Elena helped her escape, and the defenders fought both ordinary and larger creatures while protecting Pipe’s concentration. Kayden fell and Elena stabilised him; Cedric kept fighting. Vosandra’s intervention destroyed several creatures, and the last was killed before it could reach Pipe. The ritual held and the source records **Feydown cleansed**. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 44 - Cleansing Feydown|Session 44]]) > > Elena and Persephone checked villagers and treated injuries afterwards. Pipe studied the corpses; Mealla found little beyond their deaths. Local cleansing does not establish a cure for all Solland or protection from future infestation. The villagers’ later safety and the complete account of their missing neighbours remain unresolved. > > ## Relevant records > > See [[Shadowfell Leechers]], [[Black Lotus]], [[Feygrove Forest]] and [[Investigate the Solland Cough Creatures]]. ## Care for Mary and unresolved potion accounting Elena treated [[Mary]] before the ritual and again during the battle, warning first that ordinary healing would only relieve symptoms temporarily. Both43 and44 call the potion administered her “final” potion. No intervening replenishment is recorded; the two narrated administrations and the supply contradiction remain preserved. This does not undermine the independently narrated successful cleansing or justify inventing extra supplies.
