# Vivian > [!lotvk]- Lineage of the Veiled Kin — Known & Revealed > Vivian is an older healer living in a cottage near Feygrove Forest at Ol’ Hill. She says she had cared for local children and grandchildren, delivered babies and treated neighbours for years. When people began coughing and weakening and she could not cure them, villagers blamed her and threatened her life. Her account is supported by the later exposure of the creatures she described. She demanded the party disarm, and only allowed Raphius inside after he spoke under Zone of Truth. The cottage held herbs, powders and preserved animal ingredients. Bitter at her treatment, she still showed Raphius a way to see the hidden threat. She explained them as life-draining beings in another overlapping plane and later identified the Shadowfell. She could make a few fully present within a small ritual area, warning that they would become hostile. The borrowed veil had only one further use that day; its complete enchantment and recharge rules were not established. Vivian used Black Lotus in a blue-grey ritual circle; blue tendrils rose and the Leechers became visible. The fight injured her, broke her concentration and ended the ritual without curing the villagers. She angrily refused Raphius’s healing and withdrew to her cottage, although her explanation had been vindicated. ([[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/01 - Sessions/Session 37 - The Leechers, The Witch and the War Mage|Session 37]], ritual, combat and aftermath) > > Vivian confirmed a further ritual required more rare, poisonous Black Lotus. Pipe believed he could reproduce the work. She refused to leave her home, and Talador assigned two guards to protect her. Her current activities beyond that encounter are not established here. The later successful Feydown ritual was Pipe’s work, supported by the party and allies, rather than a witnessed second ritual by Vivian.
