He blamed Vivian for cursing the village, asked Talador to strike her down, and directed them to her cottage by the woods. Raphius recalled false witch accusations and the group chose to speak with the healer before judging. This initial exchange does not establish his later safety. He called Vivian a witch, rejected their explanation and tried to turn villagers against the party, helping form a hostile crowd. His accusations are contradicted by the ritual’s exposure of attached Leechers; the source does not separately record his apology or establish that he was cured. Later Talador asked him about local geography and returned with the Finster Quarry lead. That reported location is distinct from Sallis knowing the laboratory’s actual entrance.
