# Tilly ![[The Rose of Igoda/99 - Attachments/Characters/PCs/Tilly.jpg|650]] > [!info] Public campaign record > This page contains only information revealed at the table or established by campaign artwork. Private player backstory is deliberately excluded. ## Category Player Character / Bard / Archer / Tavern Worker ## Appearance Tilly has bright blue eyes, freckles and tousled dirty-blonde hair usually held back with a red headscarf. She wears practical tavern-and-travelling clothes built around a cream blouse, leather corset, belts and a red sash. Her visible tattoos, lute, bow and quiver make her look equally at home behind a bar, performing for a room or putting an arrow into something that has become a problem. ## Known Facts - Tilly was one of the original heist members who rescued [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Rose|Rose]]. - She originally took the job for money and the chance to establish herself in [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/Berran|Berran]]. - Tilly is from [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/New Haven|New Haven]] in Elaris and worked at [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/The Pewter Mug|the Pewter Mug]], run by her aunt Samira and uncle Gibran. - She created the **Princess Lily** cover story during the escape. - What began as a paid job has become fiercely personal. Tilly now reacts badly to anyone treating Rose as an asset, source of profit or magical resource. - At [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/The Red Willow|The Red Willow]], Tilly effectively brought the dead tavern back to life for a night through work, performance and sheer force of personality. - A dream connected Rose to memories of Tilly's own childhood trauma in Morrow Forest. - Tilly uses an elderly disguise persona named **Matilda**, created with a non-magical disguise kit, makeup, greyed hair, altered posture and performance. - Tilly bought Rose a child-sized set of wind pipes and a book of lullabies, eventually giving them to her after Rose survived Session 7. - During the Bardic Circle infiltration, Tilly scouted invisibly, remembered the illusory route to Rose's cell and found the second hidden wall leading to the concealed study. - Tilly recovered the hidden Bardic Circle papers just before [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Edgar Sturron|Edgar Sturron]] attacked and Rose appeared in the path of his blade. - Dharan frightened her badly. [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07a - Player Characters/Votoran|Votoran]] later helped ground her and get her moving again by reminding her Rose still needed them. - After Rose survived, Tilly's fear turned quickly into anger. She wants Edgar held responsible and also blames [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Veska Falrom|Veska]] for creating the situation around the mansion race. - In Session 8, Tilly secretly turned invisible, left [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/The Archer and Cask|the Archer and Cask]] through an upstairs window and hunted for a Thieves Guild contact around the Bardic Circle district. - She identified an elderly watcher, held a poisoned dagger to his throat and forced him to pass Veska a warning: **"Tell Veska he's made an enemy of the wrong person."** If asked who sent it, he was to say **"a little bird."** - Tilly was delighted by [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Kephri|Kephri]] when Ahkai introduced him, then immediately used Mending to repair the table Ahkai had carved into. - She thanked [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Min|Min]] for giving up her room, encouraged her to use local performers and promised to perform at the inn if she returned. - Tilly was one of the main voices pressing Sofia for enough honesty to establish trust. Once Sofia revealed the orphanage and the children being sold, Tilly accepted that as enough and stopped pushing. - Matilda successfully carried the party through a guard search near Berran's docks, including the purchase of four expensive jasmine beeswax candles as part of the cover story. - Tilly then used the desperate-grandmother act to negotiate passage aboard the [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/Moonlit Bounty|Moonlit Bounty]], invoking her invented cat **Lady Marmalade** as a reason she urgently needed to get home. - At the beginning of Session 9, Tilly is still aboard the Moonlit Bounty in her Matilda disguise when the Popping takes her away again. ## Current Personal Threads - Protect Rose without reducing her to something that must simply be hidden away. - Help find the additional Roses of Igoda Rose says she needs, beginning with [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/Dekinsza|Dekinsza]]. - Decide what to do about Edgar and Veska. - Understand the connection between Rose, the white flowers and the corruption in Dharan. - Understand the disturbing connection between Rose and Tilly's own memories of Morrow Forest. - Decide how much trust Ahkai has now earned after finally explaining his connection to Torrax. ## Connected Factions - [[The Rose of Igoda/06 - Factions & Organisations/The Bardic Circle|The Bardic Circle]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/06 - Factions & Organisations/The Harpers - Rose Campaign|The Harpers]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/06 - Factions & Organisations/The Hot Shots|The Hot Shots]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/06 - Factions & Organisations/The Thieves Guild|The Thieves Guild]] ## Connected Items - Lute - Bow and quiver - [[The Rose of Igoda/14 - Books & Records/The Hidden Papers|The Hidden Papers]] - The wind pipes and lullaby book she gave to Rose - Disguise kit used for Matilda - Four jasmine beeswax candles bought during the Session 8 escape ## Connected Places - [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/New Haven|New Haven]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/The Pewter Mug|The Pewter Mug]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/Berran|Berran]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/Thornhollow|Thornhollow]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/The Red Willow|The Red Willow]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/Bardic Circle Mansion|Bardic Circle Mansion]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/05 - Nations & Regions/Dharan|Dharan]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/The Archer and Cask|The Archer and Cask]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/Moonlit Bounty|Moonlit Bounty]] ## Connected Characters - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Rose|Rose]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07a - Player Characters/Votoran|Votoran]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07a - Player Characters/Asher|Asher]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07a - Player Characters/Agaricus|Agaricus]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07a - Player Characters/Sofia|Sofia]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07a - Player Characters/Ahkai|Ahkai]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Kephri|Kephri]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Min|Min]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Veska Falrom|Veska Falrom]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Edgar Sturron|Edgar Sturron]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07b - Non-Player Characters/Cassa Redwillow|Cassa Redwillow]] ## Open Questions - What will Tilly do if she gets the chance to confront Edgar again? - How far is she willing to go against Veska or the wider Thieves Guild? - Did Tilly's warning actually reach Veska? - Can Rose truly stop the "bad flowers" in Dharan? - What will the party find in Dekinsza? ## Character Arc Notes Tilly began with an extremely practical reason to take the job: money, opportunity and a future in Berran. Rose has completely disrupted that calculation. Session 8 shows both sides of what that attachment has produced. Tilly can still be the warm tavern worker who recognises how much Min needs a kind word, but she can also turn invisible, put a poisoned blade to a stranger's throat and send a threat to Veska without telling the others. Protecting Rose is making her more compassionate and more dangerous at the same time. ## Current Status Temporarily absent through the [[The Rose of Igoda/10 - Threats & Phenomena/The Popping|Popping]] after disappearing from the [[The Rose of Igoda/08 - Locations/Moonlit Bounty|Moonlit Bounty]] near the beginning of [[The Rose of Igoda/13 - Session Notes/Session 09 - The Moonlit Bounty Stowaway|Session 09]]. Her current location is unknown. ## Artwork ![[The Rose of Igoda/99 - Attachments/Characters/PCs/Tilly - Character Study.png|760]] ![[The Rose of Igoda/99 - Attachments/Characters/PCs/Tilly - Main.png|520]] ## Navigation - [[The Rose of Igoda/07 - Characters/07a - Player Characters/Player Characters Index|Player Characters]] - [[The Rose of Igoda/00 - Home & Navigation/Campaign Home|Campaign Hub]]
