> [!abstract]+ TL;DR
> - The party leaves [[Peaks Point]] aboard a small sloop and begins following the coast north. Persephone is exhilarated by her first time at sea, Mealla is quickly seasick, and Raphius is deeply uncomfortable around the open water.
> - Raphius demonstrates the curse of [[Vhail's Blade|Vhail’s Blade]] by throwing it into the sea and calmly insisting it will return by morning; Elena warns that if it does not, she may throw **him** in after it.
> - During the night watches, Raphius and Mealla talk about Soliana and faith, while Persephone checks on Elena after the docks. Elena admits that the Hands of Nyxthys — and Nyxthys apparently not knowing about them — have badly shaken her.
> - [[Myvendra]] appears to [[Pipe]] and gives a far fuller account of the **antediluvian** world: the Architects, Archai, Éterüm, Mitatrún and Nameless Ones, the abandonment of the old powers after the Breaking, and Solland’s role in hunting and imprisoning weakened survivors.
> - Myvendra says [[Lucius Neeve|Lucius]] freed her but her brother remains trapped. She gives Pipe one week to decide whether to help her or risk her revealing the party’s location to Lucius; Pipe later shares the ultimatum with the others.
> - The next day the weather deteriorates into a violent storm. Elena fights the rudder, Raphius secures the sails, Pipe calls directions, Mealla bails water and Persephone watches for hazards.
> - The storm coalesces into an air elemental that batters the sloop and repeatedly drops members of the party. Raphius keeps hauling allies back from the brink while the others fight to keep both themselves and the boat afloat.
> - Persephone is knocked into the sea and cannot swim. Raphius jumps in, reaches her and reminds her she can Fey Step back aboard. The elemental is eventually destroyed and the battered party survives the tempest.
> [!star]- Memorable Moments
> - 😂 **Funny — Persephone / Raphius:** Persephone attempts her bird’s grand **“debut flight”** and promptly launches it straight into Raphius’ face.
> - 😂 **Funny — Raphius / Elena:** Raphius throws Vhail’s Blade overboard purely to prove it will return; Elena tells him that if it does not, she will throw **him** into the sea after it.
> - ❤️ **Heartfelt — Mealla / Raphius:** On watch, Mealla talks about Soliana and the smoker she left behind, while Raphius explains that memories of his mother are one of the things that keep his faith anchored.
> - 💔 **Vulnerable — Elena:** Elena admits that learning about the Hands of Nyxthys has genuinely frightened her — especially because even Nyxthys seemed unaware of what was happening in Solland.
> - 🤯 **Lore Bomb — Pipe / Myvendra:** Myvendra names the Architects, Archai, Éterüm, Mitatrún and Nameless Ones and tells Pipe that Solland was among the lands that hunted and imprisoned weakened antediluvian survivors.
> - 😂 **Perfect Timing — Party / Pipe:** In the middle of a worsening storm, Pipe almost asks whether he can perform another ritual and the entire party shuts the idea down in perfect unison.
> - 🤦 **Classic D&D — Pipe:** Pipe dramatically leaps into the sea to get a spell into range — then realises afterwards that he could have cast it safely from the boat.
> - ⚔️ **Clutch — Raphius / Persephone:** Persephone is drowning and cannot reach Elena’s rope; Raphius dives in, gets to her, calms her down and reminds her that she can literally Fey Step back to the boat.
## Session Notes
### Departure from [[Peaks Point]]
The small boat (around 30 ft long) is a tight fit for the party, but it drifts away from the docks and [[Peaks Point]] shrinks behind them. With the midday sun lowering, they steer toward the coastline and begin following it north.
- [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] is overstimulated by being at sea for the first time, sprinting back and forth and rocking the boat hard.
- [[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] turns pale as the motion churns her stomach.
- [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] stands dead centre, trying to keep the weight balanced, eyeing the water nervously.
- [[Elena]] sits at the stern, steering the rudder.
- [[Pipe]] stands at the prow, scanning the horizon, excited by the journey.
[[Elena]] takes a swig of whisky, shoulders looser now they’re away from the noise of town. [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] attempts to launch her bird for its “debut flight” and accidentally yeets it straight into Raphius’ face, feathers squawking into his mouth.
[[Pipe]] checks charts for a place to moor, but realises it’s steep cliffs and fjords all the way — they’ll be on the boat the whole time. [[Elena]] explains they must take turns steering and sleeping, keeping the coastline to starboard at a safe distance. [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] asks how steering works; [[Elena]] shows her the rudder and warns the sail/rigging is more complicated. [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] looks for oars (none). [[Pipe]] tries a puff of air into the sails, making them billow slightly.
### Night on the Water
At one point, [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] dramatically throws [[Vhail's Blade]] into the sea, telling [[Pipe]] to “watch this,” and calmly claims it will have returned to him by morning. [[Elena]], aghast, warns it better return — she’s making it her life’s work to remove the curse, and if it doesn’t, she’ll throw [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] into the ocean after it.
As the sun sinks, [[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] takes charge of the evening meal. Rations will do tonight; she’ll try to catch something better tomorrow.
[[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] asks [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] what she sees in the night sky. The stars are bright tonight, and [[Pipe]] points out constellations — many named after animals. [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] reaches up as if she could touch them. [[Pipe]] tries to impress her with a minor illusion of “grabbing a star,” but while she smiles, she’s clearly not fooled.
[[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] relieves [[Elena]] at the rudder. She stretches, crosses the boat, and absent-mindedly traces runes in her palm while scratching [[Myst]], then drifts off. [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] tries to sleep “like humans” instead of trancing, and the rhythmic rocking of the boat eventually pulls her into dreaming.
[[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] sits with [[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] and asks about Soliana. [[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] speaks of her fondly — bubbly, fun, the “tinker” of the farm who made little gizmos to help with tasks. She shows [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] her smoker, a gift from Soliana, and admits she perhaps didn’t appreciate her enough until she was gone. In turn, [[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] asks [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] how he keeps his faith. He says when he wavers, he remembers his mother’s warm hand on his shoulder, and looks to the light to keep his faith burning — trusting things will be alright.
### Watch Conversations
[[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] and [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] wake [[Elena]] and [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] for their watch: nothing to report.
[[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] checks in on [[Elena]] after the docks incident. [[Elena]] admits she’s shaken — the news of The [[Hands of Nyxthys]] troubles her deeply, especially because it seemed to be news to [[Nyxthys]], implying a blind spot in [[Solland]]. [[Elena]] finds that frightening, even if she tries to stay composed.
[[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] shares she’s had another vision: the oily creature and the dreamer. [[Elena]] cautions her — it might not be a true vision, but a manipulated dream meant to steal information. [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] apologises for getting on Elena’s nerves sometimes, but promises she’ll always have her back. [[Elena]] swears she will do everything she can to keep the group alive.

### [[Pipe]] and the Dreamer’s Offer
[[Pipe]] wakes alone. The Dreamer appears from shadow on the deck, speaking of the girl he travels with — something about her might allow her to save her brother. She circles [[Pipe]], probing whether he is harbouring something powerful too, whispering: “Mitatrún, The Great Scribe… is it you, Enoch?”
She claims she hasn’t revealed their whereabouts to [[Lucius Neeve|Lucius]] yet, but can’t hold out forever — she must free her brother. She offers [[Pipe]] a choice: one week to decide.
- Ally with her and help free her brother, defying [[Lucius Neeve|Lucius]].
- Or defy her too, and she will tell [[Lucius Neeve|Lucius]] everything she knows.
[[Pipe]] hurls questions at her. Myvendra answers with a much fuller account of what she means when she calls herself **antediluvian** — one of those who existed before The Breaking and who remembers [[Tarin]] before it was reforged.
> “I am of the antediluvian; those who existed before The Breaking. One who remembers and mourns for Tarin before it was reforged. We were mindless and puppeteered, but favoured and loved… then forsaken by The Architects…set free, yet cast aside and replaced by their new children; the NEW gods.
>
> We were abandoned: The Gods of Tarin, The Archai, The Éterüm, The Mitatrún… even The Nameless Ones… all abandoned…
>
> With The Breaking of the world, we were left broken ourselves. No one was left to worship us and those that were, turned their back on us, seeing us as part of the cause… their Gods had betrayed them…
>
> And so those that remained hidden; fled, wandered…. But the hearts of mortals sought revenge… Solland, as it is known, were one of a handful of lands that hunted us now weakened…. And trapped us… sealing us off and locking us away… Lucius freed me… but my brother remains trapped still… and I must free him…”
The account substantially expands what the party know of the pre-Breaking divine order. Myvendra explicitly names **[[The Architects]]**, the **[[Archai]]**, **[[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/03 - Cosmology & Divine Structure/The Eterum|Éterüm]]**, **[[The Mitatrun|Mitatrún]]** and **[[The Nameless Ones]]**, and describes the beings of her age as once favoured and controlled before being abandoned and replaced by the **New Gods**. She also directly identifies [[Solland]] as one of the lands that hunted weakened survivors after The Breaking and imprisoned them.
Crucially, Myvendra says [[Lucius Neeve|Lucius]] **freed her**, while her brother remains imprisoned. Her immediate concern is still unchanged: someone powerful must free him. She leaves [[Pipe]] with the same ultimatum: **“One week. I will return.”**
[[Pipe]] wakes “for real” and finds [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] and [[Elena]] still on the boat. He tells them everything. The three discuss it and agree the safest move may be to say yes (for now), gain a potential ally, and delay [[Lucius Neeve|Lucius]] learning their location — even if they have no clue how they’d actually free her brother.
[[Pipe]] and [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] later discuss the Dreamer’s name: [[Myvendra]]. For once, [[Pipe]] has little academic certainty — The Breaking was over 3000 years ago, and reliable records are sparse.
### A Day’s Sail, Then the Storm Elemental
At dawn they realise they’ve drifted off course, farther from shore than they should be. [[Elena]] corrects; [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] adjusts the sails and catches a better breeze.

![[Lineage of the Veiled Kin/99 - Attachments/Session Artwork/Session 27/Sea Sloop Storm.jpeg|780]]
[[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] spots choppy water ahead and asks if they can steer around it. [[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] empties the human-sized bucket of… questionable onboard sanitation; she nearly loses her balance, and [[Pipe]] steadies her to prevent a true “shitastrophe.”
As the day goes on, [[Pipe]] briefs everyone on the Dreamer’s ultimatum. He continues reading [[Vanthar's Sanctarium]], while [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] privately giggles at the thought of whether any more of the map might appear on his buttocks.
[[Elena]] asks [[Pipe]] to hold off on any more risky rituals until they’re safely on land — if they lose the boat, they drown.
The wind rises. The sky darkens. Rain lashes down and lightning stabs through roiling cloud. Waves turn violent and slap the hull.
- The rudder strains and cracks as [[Elena]] fights to hold course.
- [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] hoists and ties down the sails before the mast can go.
- [[Pipe]] squints through the rain to shout directions.
- [[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] bails water with the bucket as it slops over the sides.
- [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] watches for rocks and hazards.
[[Pipe]], thrilled by the storm, almost asks to do a ritual — and gets shouted down by everyone in perfect unison.
Then the storm focuses: swirling wind and rain coalesce into the silhouette of an air elemental, which attacks with the fury of the tempest, battering the boat and surging through the party, trying to knock them into the sea and capsize them.
[[Elena]] clings to the rudder, trying to steer and keep them upright. She attempts to aid with Nyxthys’ blessing, but the elemental never comes within reach of [[Spada]], so she holds her post.
[[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] struggles to land hits at first and is knocked into the water, where he manages a blow or two before scrambling back — but where he truly shines is healing. Again and again companions fall unconscious under the relentless assault, and again and again [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] hauls them back from the brink. At one crucial moment, with three allies down at his feet, he restores not only their health but their will to keep fighting.
[[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] and [[Pipe]] fare slightly better than the armoured martials: [[Mealla Glynn|Mealla]] peppers the elemental with arrows (not finding their usual purchase, but steady pressure), while [[Pipe]] pummels it with magic. [[Pipe]] miscalculates a spell’s range and dramatically leaps into the water to blast the creature with thunderous force — only to realise he could’ve safely stayed on the boat.
[[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] ends up in the water too — and can’t swim. Panicking, she flounders and forgets she can Fey Step back aboard. [[Elena]] throws a rope, but Persephone’s wild arms can’t grasp it. [[Raphius Sunward|Raphius]] leaps in, grabs her, calms her, and reminds her she can teleport — and [[Persephone Amoransia Damnari|Persephone]] finally blinks back to safety.
With the elemental dispatched, the storm fades. The party, battered and soaked, collapse into breathless relief on a mildly damaged boat rocking gently on the waves.
## Session End State
> [!success]- Where Things Stand
> - The party survives the storm elemental and remains aboard the sloop, which is damaged but still afloat.
> - Pipe has received Myvendra’s **one-week ultimatum** and has shared her antediluvian account with the party.
> - Myvendra explicitly says Lucius freed her while her brother remains imprisoned, giving the party a clearer — but still deeply uncertain — picture of her motives.
> - Elena remains troubled by the Hands of Nyxthys and the apparent blind spot surrounding events in Solland.
> - The voyage north continues after the storm, with the party battered, soaked and still dependent on the boat.
