At present, the most important known function is Elena’s divine duty: identify and free souls that have been trapped, stolen, delayed, or denied their proper passage. ## Sessions 49-53 Updates - [[Xor]] has been identified as the yellow-eyed Traitor Hand and an illithid. - Xor can suppress Nyxthys’ presence through a moving [[Divine Veil]]. - He attempted to recruit Elena and threatened to replace her brain if she refused. - Persephone’s vision showed nine figures, including an older, scarless Elena; the meaning is unknown. ## Session 57 Update - Nyxthys told [[Elena]] that another Hand is being sent to assist her. - The identity of this Hand and how they will locate the party are unknown. - Elena is considering exploiting the Traitor Hands’ repeated invitation to the [[Shadowfell]] by pretending to join them and gathering information from within. - Nyxthys did not reject the idea outright. ## Session 58 Update - The additional Hand sent to Elena is [[Jasper]]. - Jasper appears experienced in planar movement and is confident he can reach the [[Shadowfell]]. - Nyxthys sent Jasper after Elena proposed infiltrating the Traitor Hands. - Jasper's plan is for Elena to give herself up and be taken towards the Shadowfell while he tracks her covertly as a hidden handler or shadow. - Jasper has now left the [[Wendell Ruins]] with Elena and [[Myst]]. - The plan does not establish that Elena is safe; Mealla explicitly warned that Jasper may also be the person expected to stop Elena if she truly becomes one of the Traitor Hands.
